Why Choose Our Custom Enclosure Manufacturing Services?
Although standard enclosures can shorten procurement time, their dimensions, openings and internal mounting methods often do not fully match actual application requirements. Our custom enclosure manufacturing service produces enclosure components that meet specifications based on the actual functions and operating conditions of your components.
DSR focuses on the internal clear space, interface locations, assembly reference points, cable bend radii, access paths, and mounting methods of these custom enclosures to help you minimize the following issues:
- Connector is misaligned with the housing opening
- PCB, terminals or power supply interfere with the door or cover plate of the enclosure
- On-site drilling damages the housing’s coating, seal, or appearance
- Ventilation position is unreasonable, internal temperature of the enclosure rises
- The prototype can be assembled, but the dimensions of the enclosures in subsequent batches are inconsistent

Two Custom Enclosure Solutions Offered by DSR
DSR can provide you with high-precision, custom enclosure solutions. We support the entire enclosure manufacturing workflow, from prototyping to full-scale production, helping our customers turn CAD designs into finished enclosure assemblies more quickly.

Our Custom Enclosure Surface Finishes
We will evaluate the most suitable surface treatment based on the material of your enclosures and their operating environment. We offer a variety of surface treatment processes. We also conduct rigorous testing of coating thickness and adhesion.

Anodizing is commonly used for aluminum alloys, forming a dense oxide film on its surface, with a thickness controllable between 5–25μm. It can enhance the surface corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and appearance of the enclosures.

Powder coating is commonly used on steel or aluminum enclosures to provide color and additional surface protection. This process enables custom enclosures to have excellent chemical corrosion resistance and anti-UV fading performance.

For custom enclosures made of stainless steel and zinc alloy, passivation creates a dense protective layer on their surfaces. This process does not alter the dimensions, appearance, or electrical conductivity of the enclosures.

Our sandblasting process removes machining marks, burrs, and minor imperfections from custom housings. These housings feature a smooth, uniform matte finish. It also improves the adhesion of subsequent coatings.

Our polishing process includes both mechanical polishing and electropolishing. Through polishing, we can effectively improve the surface finish of custom enclosures, with surface roughness as low as Ra 0.4 μm.

We use an electroplating process to form a dense metal layer on the surface of custom enclosures. This metal layer is conductive, corrosion-resistant, and has a decorative finish. Therefore, this process is well-suited for connector enclosures that require EMI/RFI shielding performance.

We use sanding belts or grinding wheels to create uniform, fine linear patterns on the surface of custom casings, giving the product a sophisticated metallic finish. This process can also effectively conceal fingerprints, minor scratches and other usage marks.

Through a chemical oxidation reaction, we create a dense conversion coating on the surface of custom enclosures. This process hardly changes the original dimensions of the part, and is especially suitable for structural parts with precise fit tolerance requirements.

Custom enclosures refer to external protective housings that we design and manufacture specifically based on customers’ particular products, equipment, or application scenarios, including targeted design considerations for material selection, structural dimensions, opening layouts, surface treatments, and protection ratings.
Standard enclosures use fixed dimensions and structures, suitable for projects with more general requirements. Custom enclosures can be adjusted according to internal components, interfaces, installation and environment.
When selecting the solution that best suits your project, you should compare the cost of custom development with the subsequent costs of modification, assembly, and maintenance, not just the unit price of the enclosure.

Aluminum is suitable for lightweight applications and heat dissipation; stainless steel is suitable for corrosive and clean environments; carbon steel is suitable for applications requiring a balance of strength and cost; and plastic is suitable for insulation and lightweight requirements.
Of course, you also need to consider the thickness, mechanical requirements, surface treatment, and quantity of the custom enclosure to decide which material to choose.
Enclosure design refers to the systematic engineering planning process we undertake for a product’s enclosure before manufacturing.
For example, we will discuss the structural layout, material selection, dimensional tolerances, opening positions, heat dissipation solutions, sealing protection, assembly methods, surface treatments, etc., of custom enclosures.
In terms of application scenarios, they can be categorized into wall-mounted enclosures, floor-standing enclosures, rack-mounted enclosures, portable enclosures, and embedded enclosures.
A plastic enclosure refers to a product protective shell made of engineering plastic materials through injection molding or CNC machining. Its main advantages are light weight, low cost, and good insulation performance.
It’s possible. Openings, windows, ventilation, fasteners, and cable entries can all alter the sealing path of custom enclosures. Therefore, you need to verify this through testing during the design phase.
You first need to provide information such as internal heat load, ambient temperature, installation location, and allowable temperature rise. We will then evaluate your requirements and develop a specific heat dissipation solution, such as natural convection, forced ventilation, thermal conduction, or heat exchange.
Additionally, the enclosure’s sealing and heat dissipation need to be designed together.
Steps for custom sub enclosure:
- First, you need to determine the type of enclosure.
- You need to calculate the appropriate enclosure volume based on the specifications of the woofer unit.
- Select suitable enclosure materials and draw up cutting diagrams.
- Assemble and seal the enclosure.
- Fill the interior with silent insulation cotton.
A custom acrylic enclosure refers to a protective casing made from acrylic sheet material (PMMA) through processes such as laser cutting, CNC engraving, or thermoforming.
It depends on the material, manufacturing process, batch size, and structural complexity of the custom enclosures.
