What is A Hydraulic Manifold?
A hydraulic manifold is a machined block typically made of aluminum, carbon steel, or ductile iron. It connects multiple hydraulic valves and components through internally drilled passages. Rather than connecting valves via separate hoses, pipes, and fittings, the manifold directs hydraulic fluid through a network of precisely drilled intersecting passages within a single block, thereby controlling the flow of fluid between the pump, actuators, and the reservoir.
Also because hydraulic manifolds play a crucial role in controlling pressure, flow, and direction, we must machine them according to precise tolerances.

Our Hydraulic Manifold Manufacturing Process
DSR has comprehensive processing capabilities. From raw materials to finished product delivery, every hydraulic manifold must go through strict multiple process flows to ensure that precision, sealing performance and service life can meet customers’ stringent requirements.

Before each batch of raw materials is put into storage, we conduct compositional analysis and hardness testing. This is to ensure that these materials meet national standards or the material specifications designated by our customers.

We are able to adopt precision machining processes to perform integrated drilling, milling, and tapping operations on valve blocks. And we can guarantee excellent machining accuracy.

Every intersecting bore is deburred with orbital brushing or deburring process. This ensures that our hydraulic manifolds are free of loose burrs, thereby preventing contamination of the hydraulic system.

Before shipment, our manifolds undergo 100% pressure testing at 1.5 times the rated working pressure. This ensures that these parts meet customer requirements.

We thoroughly clean each hydraulic manifold. The oil ports on these parts are sealed with plastic plugs and packaged with rust inhibitor.

We will also check the key dimensions and surfaces of the hydraulic manifold according to the drawings, and will also provide CMM coordinate measurement reports for the first article products.
Why Choose DSR for Hydraulic Manifold Machining?

We are capable of machining multiple intersecting holes in hydraulic manifolds without compromising structural integrity.

We must ensure that internal holes, intersecting passages, etc. must meet precise dimensional requirements. Hole position tolerance is usually controlled within ±0.01mm.

Our hydraulic manifold blocks feature smooth surfaces, resulting in low hydraulic oil flow resistance. They also enhance the parts’ corrosion resistance and service life.

We are very familiar with the cutting parameters of common hydraulic manifold materials such as aluminum alloy, 45# steel, 304/316 stainless steel.

We are committed to providing you with excellent solutions to efficiently manufacture the custom hydraulic manifold blocks you need.

Our team will communicate with you in a timely manner, enabling you to quickly understand the processing progress of your products. If you encounter any problems after delivery, you can also provide feedback to us.
Deburring and Cleanliness Control
Burrs and residual contaminants are leading causes of hydraulic system failure.Burrs that fall off in cross-hole channels may jam valve spools and scratch pump bodies. Therefore, we make deburring and cleaning mandatory processes before each manifold leaves the factory. We will perform deburring treatment on each intersection of the hydraulic manifold channels one by one, ensuring no residual burrs and flanging.
After that, we will also clean the manifolds to remove chips, oil stains and particles. Of course, we will also seal all oil ports with protective plugs and ship after anti-rust packaging.

Material Selection for Custom Hydraulic Manifold
Every custom hydraulic manifold block project we undertake begins with precise material selection. DSR will gain an in-depth understanding of your needs and the operating environment of the components, and develop a tailored material solution for you. We ensure product performance and service life from the source.
- Aluminum Alloy: Lightweight and efficient
- Carbon Steel / Alloy Structural Steel: High strength, high cost-performance
- 304 / 316 Stainless Steel: Excellent corrosion resistance
- Ductile Iron: Superior vibration damping performance
Quality Control of Custom Hydraulic Manifold
For the complex intersecting oil passages and deep hole structures inside the hydraulic manifold, we use a combination of three-coordinate measurement and endoscopy for quality inspection. We must ensure that the tolerance of key hole positions is controlled within ±0.01mm. We also inspect for hidden defects such as burrs and scratches.
Additionally, after machining is complete, these parts must undergo pressure resistance and pressure holding tests to verify their structural strength and sealing integrity.

Custom Hydraulic Manifold Surface Treatment
We enhance the durability, sealing performance and service life of hydraulic manifold through appropriate surface treatment methods. DSR will provide targeted surface treatment solutions based on your working conditions and sealing forms.

We will perform anodizing treatment on the aluminum alloy hydraulic manifolds. This surface treatment can significantly improve the surface hardness and corrosion resistance of the component.

This surface treatment can enhance the excellent salt spray corrosion resistance of custom hydraulic manifolds. Suitable for outdoor and marine environments.

The coating is uniform and dense, combining wear resistance and corrosion resistance. This surface treatment is suitable for internal oil passage protection.

Through this process, hydraulic manifolds have ultra-smooth internal surfaces, reducing fluid resistance and meeting the demands of ultra-high pressure and clean applications.

This coating can effectively reduce the coefficient of friction and extend the service life of dynamic sealing mating surfaces.
Applications of Custom Hydraulic Manifolds
With highly customizable design capabilities, DSR’s hydraulic manifolds serve multiple industries extensively, meeting performance requirements under various complex operating conditions.
The core function of hydraulic manifold blocks is to centrally integrate multiple valves and oil circuits that are originally scattered and connected by pipelines in hydraulic systems into a compact metal block, thereby greatly simplifying the system structure.
It achieves directional flow and pressure distribution of oil between various functional valve components through an internally pre-designed oil passage network.
A valve is an independent component responsible for control functions in hydraulic systems. Its function is to control the flow direction, flow rate, or pressure level of hydraulic fluid through the opening, closing, or adjustment of the internal valve spool.
The manifold block is a structural carrier that undertakes connection functions. It provides a common mounting base and flow passage for multiple valves through its internally pre-machined oil passage network.
