Why Choose DSR’s Multi-axis Machining Service?
DSR has decades of experience in multi-axis machining and excellent manufacturing capabilities. We use multi-axis machining processes to cut complex-shaped parts that cannot be processed by other methods. This process can process the workpiece from six angles, ensuring that the part can be manufactured in one clamping and greatly improving accuracy. In addition, based on your drawings, we will develop the most reasonable solution to ensure that the part tolerances can meet the project specifications. Afterwards, we will perform suitable surface treatment processes on the parts to further enhance their performance. So, feel free to send us your requirements!
What Multi-axis Machining Capabilities do We Have?
We have a variety of machining and manufacturing processes and can provide you with a one-stop solution, thereby providing you with truly efficient parts production services.

Facing complex structures such as aviation impellers and medical implants, our 5-axis machining center can achieve multi-dimensional linkage between the tool and the workpiece. Through one-time clamping and molding, the accumulated error caused by multiple turnings can be effectively eliminated, thereby controlling position accuracy and concentricity at the micron level.

If you need parts that are slotted, drilled or polyhedron machined on a cylindrical surface, then our 4-axis machining is undoubtedly the best choice. This process can significantly reduce the fixture switching time, and can also complete continuous rotational cutting with extremely high efficiency. It can be said to be an ideal solution for high precision and economy.

During machining, many parts require complex rotational features and multi-surface milling features simultaneously. At this time, the traditional milling process is prone to problems. Our turning-mill center can complete all processes on the same equipment, which can not only greatly shorten the machining cycle, but also ensure the accuracy of the parts.

Whether it’s high-strength titanium alloy or high-temperature-resistant Inconel, we have a mature database of cutting parameters and special tool configurations. We can perform multiple processes such as heat treatment and precision machining on these materials to ensure their performance is fully utilized, meeting your part usage requirements.

Many industries focus on lightweighting, so the wall thickness of parts should be thin. For these thin-walled parts that are prone to deformation and chatter, we use customized flexible fixtures and optimized low-stress tool paths to perfectly maintain the structural rigidity and dimensional stability of the parts while removing excess material.

3-axis machine tools cannot process complex molds and housings with deep cavity structures, but with the rotation axis of multi-axis machine tools, we can flexibly tilt the spindle or workpiece. This enables us to use shorter, stiffer tools to penetrate deep into cavities, even reaching areas inaccessible to conventional machining. So you don’t need to modify the internal structure design to compromise the manufacturing process.

When drilling inclined holes or intersecting holes on irregular surfaces, the drill bit is highly prone to slipping or deflecting. Our multi-axis system can accurately calculate spatial coordinates and rotate the workpiece to the perfect angle, ensuring that the tool always feeds perpendicular to the normal direction of the surface. Additionally, we complete hole machining at all angles in one clamping, significantly shortening delivery times and reducing overall costs.
Complex Structural Parts We have Manufactured
Through multi-axis machining services, we have produced various types of complex components for customers worldwide, and the quality of the parts has been unanimously praised by them.

Advantages of Our Multi-axis Machining
Choosing DSR’s multi-axis machining services is the right choice for you, because we have some advantages that other suppliers do not have.

Our multi-axis equipment can be quickly set up and provide you with cost-effective manufacturing solutions from a few prototypes to hundreds of small batches.

Our multi-axis machining technology can directly cut complex geometries from a solid blank, thereby maximizing the retention of the material’s original strength and rigidity.

Our high-rigidity multi-axis machines can consistently control the concentricity, positional accuracy, and dimensional tolerances of complex geometries within ±0.005 mm.

With Done-in-One, the operator’s time for manual turning and repositioning can be reduced, thereby optimizing your overall manufacturing costs.

We have optimized the multi-axis toolpath, achieving an extremely high machining success rate and effectively reducing trial-and-error scrap rates. This also significantly saves material costs for you.

Relying on an advanced CNC system, we can ensure that every part delivered to you maintains high consistency in dimensions and surface quality.

Our multi-axis precision machines are capable of machining a wide range of structural parts, including deep cavities, undercuts, and complex spatial surfaces. So you don’t need to modify your drawings to compromise the manufacturing process.

We are equipped with high-precision coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and optical inspection equipment to conduct rigorous quality inspections on every part, ensuring qualified delivery.
Professional DFM Support for Multi-Axis Machining
Before multi-axis machining, our engineers will provide you with free and in-depth DFM reviews. We use advanced CAM toolpath simulation and structural feasibility analysis to eliminate cost-increasing issues in your drawings, such as excessively tight non-critical tolerances or hard-to-reach internal fillets. In addition, we will also recommend more economical tolerance allocation and standard tool matching solutions for you while retaining your core design intent. This can help you significantly shorten delivery times and reduce trial-and-error costs.

What Industries do We Serve?
Our multi-axis machining capabilities have already served multiple industries, providing these industries with numerous high-quality, high-precision components.
The aerospace industry is the most widely applied and technically demanding field for multi-axis machining. We can produce aerospace components with complex spatial surfaces through multi-axis machining.
The medical industry has extremely high requirements for the biocompatibility and surface finish of materials, and we can manufacture high-precision, extremely irregularly shaped components for you through multi-axis machining processes.
High-performance racing cars and new energy vehicles require lightweight components. For a variety of lightweight custom components, such as suspension components, motor housings, etc., our multi-axis CNC machining capabilities can perfectly manufacture.
Equipment in the energy industry needs to operate stably under high-temperature and high-pressure environments, which also imposes stringent requirements on the materials and machining precision of parts. Our multi-axis machine tools have strong rigidity and torque to efficiently cut difficult-to-machine materials such as titanium alloys.
Our Multi-axis Machining Strict Tolerance Threshold
Our multi-axis machined parts cover a wide range of tolerances, but all parts have strict tolerance limits to ensure they meet your specifications.
- Tolerance Threshold Table
| Machining Capability | Standard Tolerance | Tightest Achievable |
| 5-Axis Milling (Linear) | ±0.020 mm | ±0.005 mm |
| Complex Turning (Diameter) | ±0.015 mm | ±0.005 mm |
| True Position / Coaxiality | ±0.030 mm | ±0.010 mm |
| Angular Tolerance | ±0.5° | ±0.1° |
| Thin-Wall Machining | 1.00 mm | 0.30 mm |
| Surface Finish (Ra) | 1.6 μm | 0.4 μm |
In CNC machining, an “axis”represent the directions in which the tool or workpiece can move. Traditional 3-axis machines can only move in the linear directions of X, Y, and Z, while multi-axis machining adds a rotation axis to this basis, allowing the tool or worktable to tilt and rotate in three-dimensional space.
Traditional 3 linear axes: X axis, Y axis, and Z axis, along with two additional rotational axes, typically the A axis (tilt rotation around the X axis) and the B axis (tilt rotation around the Y axis).
