Why Choose Our Powder Metallurgy?
Powder metallurgy is also known as the press-sintering process. If the unit cost of your parts is relatively high, powder metallurgy may be a more suitable alternative. This process uses molding and sintering techniques to achieve near-net-shape manufacturing, reducing material waste and subsequent machining, thereby helping you reduce mass production costs.
DSR is a manufacturer with 14 years of manufacturing experience. We provide customized powder metallurgy part solutions for OEMs, engineers, and procurement teams, helping our customers transform drawings into reliable, cost-effective, and mass-producible sintered metal parts.
In addition, our engineering team will evaluate your drawings, help you identify problems in advance, and reduce mold modification and trial-and-error costs.
Our Powder Metallurgy Manufacturing Capabilities
As a professional powder metallurgy company, DSR has comprehensive manufacturing solutions. We are able to provide complete powder metallurgy manufacturing processes, helping our customers transform drawings into real sintered metal parts.

We will choose the appropriate metal powder, lubricant, and alloying elements for mixing based on your component usage requirements. A stable powder ratio helps improve the formability and final performance of the parts.

During the compaction forming stage, the mixed metal powder is filled into precision molds and pressed under pressure to form a green compact close to the final shape.

The pressed green compact is heated under controlled temperature and in a protective atmosphere, causing the metal powder particles to bond together to form a metal part with a certain strength and stable structure.

For powder metallurgy parts with high assembly requirements, we can perform secondary calibration of critical dimensions through sizing or finishing processes.

We can perform secondary machining on threads, precision holes, end faces, keyways, chamfers, grooves, and critical mating surfaces of parts. This ensures that the part’s matching accuracy and functional dimensions meet your requirements.

For powder metallurgy parts with high requirements for hardness, wear resistance, or load-bearing capacity, we can provide heat treatment processes according to material characteristics and application requirements.

Powder metallurgy parts can undergo a variety of surface treatments based on their operating environment and your requirements to improve rust resistance, wear resistance, lubrication, appearance, and service life. Common surface treatments include oil impregnation, blackening, electroplating, coating, etc.
Powder Metal Components We Manufacture
Powder metallurgy is particularly well-suited for producing complex metal parts that are costly, time-consuming, and wasteful to manufacture using traditional machining methods. We are able to provide customized machining solutions tailored to the specific needs of each customer.

Powder metallurgy gears are suitable for medium to high volume gear production. The gear teeth can be formed in a single press operation using precision dies, reducing the need for subsequent machining processes such as gear hobbing and shaping, which helps you lower the cost per unit.

One of the most typical applications. By controlling the porosity structure of the sintered material, the bearing can store lubricating oil after being vacuum-oiled. And these bushings continuously release oil films during operation, reducing friction and wear.

Powder metallurgy bearings utilize internal pores in the material to store oil, featuring low friction, self-lubrication, and stable operation. This type of bearing not only maintains stable inner and outer diameter dimensions, but also ensures quality consistency in mass production.

Through die pressing and sintering, we can produce various complex structural components in a single step, reducing the need for subsequent machining and assembly. At the same time, this process can help you reduce material costs and machining time.

Powder metallurgy is ideal for manufacturing oil pump rotors, inner and outer rotors, pump gears, and hydraulic pump gears. Our powder metallurgy process enables you to precisely control tooth profile, end faces, bore diameter, and concentricity.

The tooth profile, center hole, hub and mounting features of sprockets can be formed through molding, reducing machining and material waste. And powder metallurgy can also combine reshaping, heat treatment and other processes to enhance the wear resistance and assembly stability of sprockets.

Powder metallurgy is suitable for producing small, complex metal parts used in locks. Through powder pressing and forming, these parts with complex contours, hole positions, steps and functional surfaces can be formed in one operation.

Powder metallurgy is well-suited for the production of automotive metal parts that require cost-effectiveness, batch consistency, high material utilization, and complex shapes. Using this process, we can manufacture a wide variety of automotive components for you.

Powder metallurgy is an advanced manufacturing process that produces high-precision parts by compressing metal powders into shapes and sintering them at high temperatures.
First, you need to uniformly mix metal powders of different ratios. Then, a custom mold will apply high pressure to compress the powders into the desired complex shape. Finally, you need to send them into a high-temperature sintering furnace, where the metal particles will bond together and harden at temperatures below the melting point.
Powder metallurgy is mainly used to manufacture high-precision metal parts with complex shapes that are difficult to produce through traditional casting or machining methods.
Part tolerances can generally be controlled within a range of ±0.05 to ±0.1 millimeters.
- High initial mold costs
- Size and weight limitations
- Powder metallurgy parts generally have lower strength and toughness than forged or machined parts
