Benefits and Advantages of Precision CNC Machining
Fast Testing: With prototype CNC machining, you can immediately test the feasibility of your design at the very beginning to reduce design risks.
Continuous Improvement: All prototypes can be easily changed and enhanced to ensure your product is in its optimum state before mass production.
Reduced Development Cycle: CNC machining for prototyping reduces your product development time so that your project reaches the market earlier.
Cost Saving: Avoid costly rework of design flaws at the early stage, saving material and labor costs.
Highly Customized: Whether it is bespoke geometric constructions or novel materials, we can precisely process them according to your requirements.
High Flexibility: Engineers and designers can try different materials, shapes, and sizes right away, freely validating multiple design versions.
It also depends upon what you are looking for in the project. If you need metal or high-strength plastic prototypes, high dimensional precision (±0.01 mm) and good finish, CNC machining will be best. If fast inspection of form or appearance and low material requirement is needed, 3D printing is more cost-effective.
From low-fidelity proof-of-concept to high-fidelity physical prototypes, we offer high-precision prototype CNC machining on plastics and metals.
You only need to provide us with a rough idea of the design, sketch, or even a freehand drawing. Our engineering team can convert it into a CAD file and make the structure more refined. If you already have completed 3D drawings (in STEP, IGS, or STL format), we can directly proceed with machining, which will save time and cost.
We boast over 10 years of prototyping experience, having over thousands of prototype CNC machining solutions completed for the automotive parts, medical device, consumer electronics, and industrial machinery sectors.
Our specialists are trained in CNC machining, CAD model creation, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), material selection, and surface treatment, which enables us to help you preclude mass production risks during prototyping.
Yes. Over 70% of the prototypes we processed were put into mass production and released into the market, ranging from auto parts, medical devices, to high-end electronic products for well-known global companies such as Volvo, Magna, STIHL, and so on.
In most cases, our delivery speed has allowed clients to complete product launches weeks ahead of schedule, helping them capture market opportunities.
The purpose of prototype machining is to quickly validate designs. Therefore, in individual or small-batch production, factors such as material batches, machine tool calibration, environment, and operator techniques can cause minute variations in dimensions, tolerances, or surface finishes between successive batches of parts.
We control the machining process tightly so as to ensure stability in quality, but from the very nature of prototypes, such minute variations are common to the business. For mass production, we will ensure maximum consistency through process optimization and statistical control.
With injection molding or CNC milling, the protective oils and lubricants used during application can leave residues on the resin part surface, particularly on black surfaces since the oil spots are more noticeable. Low-level contamination can also occur due to packaging or shipping.
These oil traces will not affect the structure and function of the part and usually can be removed by alcohol wipes or mild soap. We also perform some general cleaning prior to shipping to ensure shipping quality.
The prototype CNC machining is usually aimed at small-batch orders, and the orders are usually single to dozens of pieces.
We also provide single-piece customization to meet customer demands for rapid verification and samples in a flexible way. For mass production, we recommend implementing mass production processes to ensure optimal cost and efficiency. Specific quantity limits may vary according to part complexity, material, and process.
