Advantages of Stainless Steel Bushing

It can resist corrosion from water vapor, high humidity, acid, alkali, salt, and various industrial chemicals, and can be used in harsh environments, significantly reducing maintenance frequency and cost.

Stainless steel bushings have high strength and hardness, which are suitable for applications with large radial or axial loads, and perform better in applications requiring structural support.

After surface quenching and other heat treatments, the stainless steel bushing can have good wear resistance and can adapt to most non-extreme wear-resistant environments.

Stainless steel bushings can maintain good mechanical properties and oxidation resistance at higher or lower temperatures, bringing you stable mechanical properties.

The surface of the stainless steel bushing is dense and smooth, making it less prone to breeding bacteria and resistant to various chemical detergents, making your mechanical structure easier to clean and disinfect.

The stainless steel bushing has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and relatively small dimensional changes when the temperature changes, which helps maintain accurate equipment operation in a fluctuating temperature environment.

Stainless steel bushings have a modern, clean, and shiny appearance, which helps to enhance the overall aesthetics and value of products such as high-end sports equipment.

A variety of stainless steel options are available, including 304, 316L, 303, 440C, 17-4PH, etc.
Precision Manufacture
Whether forging, stamping, or direct CNC machining stainless steel bushings, we can provide you with the highest precision machining services. We can ensure that the inner and outer hole diameters, length, and other dimensions of the bushing meet your requirements. The tolerance can be controlled within ±0.005mm, and the surface roughness can be customized from Ra 0.2 to Ra 3.2, which can not only make your stainless steel bushing have the lowest friction, but also maintain the consistency of the same batch of products, ensuring the smooth operation and long-term use of the machine.

Low Surface Roughness
Our advanced CNC machining centers can perform precision turning and milling of stainless steel bushings according to programming. With the appropriate tool parameters, coolant, and subsequent surface treatments (such as polishing, brushing, engraving, etc.), we can achieve very smooth or textured surfaces based on your requirements.
Diverse Application Cases of Customized Stainless Steel Bushing

In food packaging lines, our 316 food-grade stainless steel bushings, combined with CNC-machined smooth inner bores, can perfectly withstand high-pressure cleaning and disinfectant corrosion, while ensuring low-friction operation, minimizing contamination risks, and downtime.

If your seaside construction machinery is facing salt spray corrosion, you should consider DSR to produce your 304/316 stainless steel wear-resistant bushings. We provide surface hardening and a variety of special surface treatments. Combined with the reliable tolerances of precise CNC machining, DSR provides your stainless steel bushings with corrosion resistance and ultra-long service life.

For medical devices, clean, sterile, and high-precision operation is crucial. We customize high-precision stainless steel bushings for you with high dimensional stability and ultra-smooth surface, which are ideal for transmitting power in key parts.
A stainless steel bushing is a kind of wear-resistant, smooth ring spacer. It is used in the hole of the housing, allowing the shaft to rotate in this bushing, which reduces wear, reduces friction, maintains precision, and protects more expensive parts (shafts and housings). It is commonly used in various mechanical joints, transmission parts, and guide positions. The corrosion resistance and high strength of stainless steel make it suitable for harsh environments such as food factories, chemical plants, and coastal factories.
A sleeve is a broader term for a protective or connecting tube that may not have a functional role in bearing movement. So, a stainless steel bushing is also a stainless steel sleeve bushing. There are various types of stainless steel bushings, while a stainless steel sleeve bushing often refers to the plain bushing without flanges or outer thread.
Consider two factors—Inner and outer apertures
First, you need to know the diameter of your shaft. The inner bore should typically be sized to allow the shaft to pass easily, but not too loosely, leaving a slight gap between the stainless steel bushing and the shaft.
The outer hole size needs to match the diameter of the hole in the machine housing where the stainless steel bushing will be placed. The outer diameter of the stainless steel bushing can be designed to be slightly larger so that the stainless steel bushing needs to be pressed in with some force to fit tightly into the hole.
It depends on the specific application. In general, the most advanced material may be the PTFE-lined stainless steel bushing. In addition to its excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, low friction, and wear resistance, this material also requires no external lubrication. In terms of specific models, 304 stainless steel bushings are a more cost-effective choice, while 316L stainless steel provides better corrosion resistance.
Low-carbon steel is also known as mild steel due to its low carbon content (usually less than 0.3%). This property makes it easier to cut, weld, and form, making it more convenient to process bushings. However, the disadvantages of low-carbon steel bushings are also obvious. They are not as corrosion-resistant as stainless steel bushings, and their strength and load capacity are also lower than stainless steel bushings.
The key alloying element in stainless steel is chromium, which gives it excellent corrosion resistance. In addition, other alloying elements such as nickel, molybdenum, manganese, titanium, or niobium will further improve the stainless steel’s resistance to pitting and weld corrosion and strength. The advantages of stainless steel bushings have been mentioned above; the only disadvantage of stainless steel bushings is that they are less easily processed, and the cost will also increase accordingly.
The initial cost of ordering stainless steel bushings is much higher than bronze bushings or steel bushings. However, with better corrosion resistance and longer service life, the stainless bushings can avoid unexpected machine downtime in corrosive environments and reduce maintenance costs. Moreover, for industries such as food and medicine, higher hygiene standards cannot be measured in money, and savings in this regard often lead to greater losses. Therefore, in suitable applications, stainless steel bushings often have lower long-term costs.
It depends. Most stainless steel bushings do not have a special friction-reducing layer. In this case, regular lubrication or lubrication of the machine will extend the service life. However, stainless steel bushings with PTFE linings do not require external lubrication.
